Auberge Collection expanding Colorado footprint with Steamboat Springs addition

Auberge Collection will add its fifth property in Colorado when The Stockman, Steamboat Springs, Colorado, opens in 2030. The project is expected to break ground in 2026 and will include 59 guestrooms and suites and 95 private residences across a nine-story property. The development will provide ski-in, ski-out access.

“Great destinations are defined by a strong sense of identity and connection to their surroundings,” said Dan Friedkin, chairman of Auberge Collection. “The Stockman is a destination that draws from the unique character of Steamboat Springs, honoring its history in a way that is both timeless and forward-looking. We invest in places designed to endure.”

“We are thrilled to expand Auberge Collection’s alpine footprint with the addition of The Stockman,” said Christian Clerc, CEO of Auberge Collection. “Steamboat Springs has long been a beloved mountain destination and an essential part of the region’s rich heritage. We look forward to ushering in a new era of luxury, offering extraordinary experiences that immerse guests and residents in the destination’s natural beauty.”

The project is being designed by OZ Architecture with interiors by Nunzio Marc DeSantis Architects. Plans include three dining venues, a full-service spa under the Wellbeing by Auberge concept and a pool. Programming will include winter and summer activities, including ski services and outdoor experiences.

Residences will range from one- to five-bedroom units, including 13 rooftop “Barn” residences with two- to five-bedroom layouts.

Other Auberge Collection locations in Colorado include Aspen, Ridgway and two properties in Telluride.

“Steamboat has long been beloved for its authenticity, character, and extraordinary natural setting,” said Eric Nordness, managing principal of Marquee Development. “With The Stockman, our vision is to create a hospitality experience that reflects that spirit through thoughtful design, elevated service, and spaces that feel both refined and deeply connected to the mountain. Partnering with Auberge Collection allows us to introduce a level of service and experience that reflects the caliber of this destination.”

The development is led by Stockman Development LLC in partnership with Marquee Development. Residential sales are expected to begin in 2026.
