Hyatt’s Andaz brand to debut in Portugal

Hyatt is set to open Andaz Lisbon in the last quarter of 2025, marking the brand’s debut in Portugal. The hotel will be located on Rua do Comércio, near the Rua Augusta Arch and Praça do Comércio.

The hotel will feature 170 rooms and suites ranging from 22 to 99 square meters. Views will include São Jorge Castle, Praça do Comércio and the Tagus River.

A rooftop restaurant and terrace will serve modern Lusitanian cuisine and offer live music and DJ sets. A lounge modeled after Lisbon’s street kiosks will serve Portuguese street food, coffee, beer and spirits.

In addition, Andaz Lisbon will include works by local and international artists and will reflect the brand’s updated visual identity, aiming to connect guests with Lisbon’s culture through design and experience.

Cajetan Araujo, general manager, is leading the project. He has over 20 years of experience in luxury hospitality and previously led the opening of W Algarve Hotel & Residences, as well holding positions at W Goa and at St. Regis properties in Doha, Mumbai and Bal Harbour.

“Andaz Lisbon is more than a hotel, it’s a statement of intent,” he said. “It’s the first of a new generation of Andaz properties, designed to reflect the soul of its surroundings, inspire meaningful connections, and empower guests to explore with curiosity and confidence. I’m honored to lead this exciting journey and together with the team we are super excited to soon welcome our guests who can now book their stay with us.
