Loews Hotels & Co has announced plans for Americana by Loews Hotels in Arlington, Texas. The project will be the company’s third hotel in the Entertainment District of Arlington and will replace the existing Sheraton Arlington Hotel.
Construction is scheduled to begin after the current hotel is demolished. A “ground-shaking event” is planned for early June, marking the start of the development. Americana by Loews Hotels will become the brand’s 28th property and will carry the name of the former Americana Hotel in Bal Harbour, Fla., which opened in 1956.
“This project reflects our strong belief in Arlington as a dynamic destination and our confidence in its continued growth,” said Alex Tisch, president and CEO of Loews Hotels & Co. “Americana by Loews Hotels honors our heritage while looking ahead, bringing together scale, service excellence, and design to support group and leisure travelers alike. As our third hotel in Arlington, it also marks an important milestone for Loews as owner, operator, and developer.”
The hotel will include 507 guestrooms, including 39 suites. Standard rooms will range from 350 to 400 square feet. The property will offer more than 83,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space.
Interior meeting space will total 44,789 square feet, including a 17,337-square-foot Grand Ballroom, a 10,000-square-foot Event Barn, a 6,808-square-foot Junior Ballroom and 10,644 square feet of breakout rooms. Exterior meeting space will total 38,651 square feet, including an Event Lawn of 23,820 square feet and additional terrace areas.
With the addition of Americana by Loews Hotels, the Loews Hotels & Co campus in Arlington will reach a total of 1,695 guest rooms and more than 374,000 square feet of combined indoor and outdoor meeting space.
