CAPE TOWN Protea Hospitality Group will manage the former Arabella Western Cape Hotel & Spa under its African Pride brand, following the 5-star property’s sale by Arabella Hospitality Group.
Hospitality Property Fund Ltd. acquired the 145-key Western Cape Hotel, along with the 483-key Westin Cape Town, from Arabella last week. Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
Both hotels had been managed by a joint venture between Arabella and Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide; that partnership is in the process of being disbanded. Starwood will continue to operate the Westin on behalf of Hospitality Property Fund.
