TFE Hotels debuts Adina Hobart in Tasmania

TFE Hotels is expanding its presence in Tasmania with the debut of its premium apartment-style brand Adina in Hobart. The new property marks the first Adina hotel in the state and joins the existing Vibe Hobart within the same mixed-use development.

The 48-key Adina Hobart is located alongside the 142-key Vibe Hobart. Guests at Adina will have access to onsite amenities shared with Vibe, including Belvedere restaurant and bar, conferencing facilities, a pool and a gym. The development is positioned in Hobart, which recorded 1.36 million visitors in 2025.

The hotel’s interiors draw inspiration from Tasmanian eucalypt forests. The design incorporates natural timbers, neutral tones and soft green and deep orange accents. The aesthetic is intended to reflect cues found in the lobby and shared spaces.

Owner and developer Richard Doedens said the goal was to reflect the local environment.

“With Adina Hobart, we wanted to craft a hotel that feels intrinsically connected to Tasmania. As such, the palette, the textures, and the organic forms all draw from the quiet beauty of the eucalypt forests that define so much of the state’s landscape,” said Richard Doedens, owner and developer. “Our design approach also focuses on warmth and comfort, while still delivering the sophistication expected of anAdina. And, by anchoring the interiors in natural materials and rounded, calming shapes, we’ve created a place that feels both grounded and elevated.”

The property offers contemporary studios and one- and two-bedroom apartments, with the option to interconnect into a three-bedroom configuration. Each unit is designed to support longer stays and includes fully equipped kitchens and independently configured living spaces.

According to TFE Hotels Group Chief Operating Officer Chris Sedgwick, the brand’s expansion is tied to demand for this type of accommodation.

“As we expand our global footprint, we’re seeing increasing demand for apartment style hotels that offer the space, flexibility, and contemporary design that Adina does so well,” Sedgwick said. “With every new opening, whether here at home or in key international cities, Adina anchors our premium offering and showcases the best of Australian hospitality on the world stage.”

Hotel General Manager Jamie Capp said the property responds to current travel patterns in the city.

“Apartment-style stays are increasingly important to the visitor economy because they encourage extended travel and support local operators,” said Jamie Capp, general manager of Adina Hobart. “With both Adina and Vibe now in Hobart, we’re offering travellers more choice – whether they’re here for business, culture, or nature.”

“We’re proud to be contributing to Hobart’s growth at such an exciting time for the city,” adds Capp.
