1 Hotel Tokyo is now accepting reservations for its debut in March 2026. The property will be located within the Akasaka Trust Tower in the Tokyo World Gate Akasaka development, occupying floors 38 through 43 and featuring 211 guestrooms, including 20 suites, three Penthouse Collection suites and five accessible rooms.
“Design is at the heart of everything we do at 1 Hotels, and Tokyo gave us an inspiring canvas to create something that is both beautiful and responsible,” says Raul Leal, CEO of Starwood Hotels. “We approached every aspect, from material choices to wellness spaces, with intention, creating a hotel that is deeply connected to its surroundings and ahead of its time.”
The hotel integrates biophilic design throughout public areas and guestrooms, incorporating preserved moss, recycled materials, locally crafted decor and curated greenery. Guests will encounter natural elements from the ground-floor arrival and outdoor green wall to the 38th-floor lobby, featuring vertical botanical installations, recycled timber panels and Oya stone. Zen-inspired lounges and gardens with sculptural rocks and gravel are also part of the design.
Guestrooms are designed with sustainable finishes and biophilic art. Select rooms provide views of Tokyo Tower and the Imperial Palace gardens. Materials and textures reflect natural authenticity and local craftsmanship, with sand-textured wallpaper, hand-raked plaster finishes and gravel elements evoking traditional Japanese aesthetics.

Culinary offerings include a signature restaurant inspired by the French Riviera and Japanese seasonality, a Lobby Lounge & Bar with a 50-gin selection and a grab-and-go café offering plant-forward dishes and artisanal beverages. Private dining rooms feature washi paper and dried botanical artwork.
Event spaces total more than 460 square meters on the 38th floor, including the Sakura and Camellia rooms. Events follow the Certified Sustainable Gatherings program, using local catering, zero-waste planning and real-time environmental reporting.
Wellness amenities include a spa with five treatment rooms and a couples’ suite, a hammam steam room, a dry sauna, The Field House fitness space and an indoor pool with outdoor deck. These areas incorporate natural materials and Japanese craftsmanship, including washi wall coverings and preserved botanical artwork.
1 Hotel Tokyo has achieved CASBEE S certification, Japan’s highest rating for environmental performance. Sustainability measures include energy-efficient systems, water conservation, refill stations to reduce single-use plastics, zero-waste kitchens and adaptive reuse of reclaimed materials.
