About Orrefors Kosta Boda
Orrefors and Kosta Boda are two separate brands that both produce glass products and are deeply rooted in Scandinavian design tradition.
The history of Orrefors is the story of how the simplest ingredients can become magnificent glass objects. The proximity of the forest, the craftsmen and designers made Orrefors global leader in glass. Today, we maintain this proud heritage by making sure that our products meet the principles of Scandinavian design.
At the Kosta Glassworks, the furnaces have been lit since 1742. Today we offer a wide range of glass art and contemporary interior design products in the proud tradition of Swedish design – driven forward by a passion for glass and a constant quest for new expressions, both accessible and bold.
Orrefors Kosta Boda Products
Orrefors – City
A proper drinking glass brings a lot to the table. With the City collection, Martti Rytkönen puts the spotlight on the big-city experience by pairing crystal clear glass with inspiration from nature in a surprising combination.
Orrefors – Informal
Informal is Björn Dahlström’s first collaboration with Orrefors. The series includes every glass you need around the modern dining table, and is an innovative marriage between Sweden’s beautiful, high-quality glass tradition and today’s more informal social customs.
Orrefors – Reed
The vases in the Reed collection began as three-dimensional sketches in cardboard and paper, where Monica Förster showed how to bring character in the material by emphasizing the folds of the mold instead of hiding them. Transferred to glass, it gives a sense of organic movement.
Kosta Boda – Crackle
Crackle defies all preconceptions and makes a glassblower’s nightmare – cracked glass – its raison d’être. The series launched in 2020 and consists of vases and a bowl, all mouth-blown in Kosta. In 2023, the Crackle Circular series won the prestigious international ‘Best of the Best’ – Red Dot Design Award.
Kosta Boda – Rocky Baroque
A rebellious take with ancient roots, the Rocky Baroque series is a playful remix of the classical column. Monumental contours meet raw, jagged surfaces in this series of candlesticks. Pop colors mix with unyielding shapes, and the collection resides in the borderlands between sculpture and utility object.
