Red Lion breaks the franchise application mold

RLH Corp. is breaking another traditional mold with the launch of a designated website that allows hotel owners to apply online for a franchise under its Country Hearth brand umbrella.

The franchiseasy website has an online application process for hoteliers looking to operate as an independent or under the Country Hearth brand. It has eight steps to the all-in fee of 4% of revenue in exchange for access to the company’s property management and reservations system, as well as a distribution network that includes negotiated deals with online travel agents. The fee includes access to its CRS and PMS, and booking fees. It is based on 4% of gross revenue and excludes taxes.

Beyond the core features, owners select only the services they need, and choose whether to keep their independent hotel name, establish a new one, or use the company’s Country Hearth brand name and logo.

Prospective hoteliers can complete the process on either mobile devices or desktop computers. There is a franchise disclosure document, a short application process, a menu option that allows hoteliers to pick and choose from a la carte services for their property, tools that allow them to build the kind of relationship they’re looking for from RLH Corp., and an approval process.
