Auberge Resorts Collection has opened Chileno Bay Resorts & Residences in Los Cabos.

With design from Glazier Le Architects and BAMO, the resort’s design is beach-side chic with clean lines, natural wood and hand-cut local stone accented with traditional Mexican design elements. A 450-foot-long swimming pool anchors the resort and the surrounding landscape was designed by Girvin & Associates.

The 60-room resort also has 32 two-, three-, and four-bedroom villas, all with floor-to-ceiling windows. Upon arrival, guests walk through an open-air passageway that leads to views of the beach and Chileno Bay. Furniture is handcrafted in linen, cotton and leather, with pops of bright colors. Guest rooms have private terraces with ocean, beach, pool or garden views and light-filled bathrooms with freestanding soaking bathtubs and private outdoor showers. Villas are equipped with gourmet kitchens and living spaces that span indoor-outdoor and terraces with plunge pools and hot tubs. Signature in-room amenities include a welcome cocktail freshly prepared in-room upon arrival, artisanal bath products, and complimentary refreshments and WiFi.

The resort’s activity center offers a kids club with two movie theatres and group fitness and wellness programming led by CrossFit Games champion Jason Khalipa.

Dining experiences include regional Mexican favorites as well as Latin American cuisine. Tequila bar TnT has Mexican street-style tacos, artisanal tequilas and freshly crafted cocktails – and even jars of traditionally prepared chapulines (grasshoppers). Chileno Bay’s signature restaurant, Comal, a three-tiered open-air space designed by Gulla Jonsdottir Architecture + Design, is helmed by Chef Yvan Mucharraz, alum of The French Laundry and L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon restaurants in Yountville, California and Paris. A raw bar located at center of the restaurant offers local wild-caught seafood in a live-action setting that serves raw oysters, clams and served as ceviche and sashimi-style tiraditos.
