BRAZIL Sales and marketing consortia Worldhotels has signed an agreement with Hotéis Othon of Brazil for five new affiliate hotels in Rio de Janeiro, Salvador and Belo Horizonte.
These new additions bring Worldhotels’ global portfolio to 450 affiliate properties in 250 destinations and 65 countries worldwide. In South America, Worldhotels now boasts five affiliate properties in Brazil and two in Argentina, and is looking to double the number of properties in this region by the end of the year.
“The five Othon hotels we are welcoming today are spectacular properties,” says Gregory G. Habeeb, senior director of hotel development for Worldhotels in the Americas. “We believe these high-visibility hotels will generate regional interest and growth opportunities for our hotel group, and delight our customers from around the world.”
Othon has a diverse, five-brand portfolio of 26 properties with 2,000 guestrooms located in Brazil, Portugal and the United States.
“After thoroughly researching both hotel and representation companies, Worldhotels was the logical choice, as they offer the most comprehensive set of sales, marketing, reservations and business-building tools available,” says Tomas Ramos, commercial director of Othon.
The hotels that are joining Worldhotels are the 572-key Rio Othon Palace, Rio de Janeiro; The Leme Othon Palace, a 195-key hotel in Rio de Janeiro ; the 100-guestroom Olinda Othon Classic, Rio de Janeiro; Bahia Othon Palace, a 265-key property in Salvador; and the 287-guestroom Belo Horizonte Othon Palace.
