What’s Hot: Turneffe Island Resort renovates

Turneffe Island Resort, a private 14-acre island 35 miles off the coast of Belize, debuted its resort-wide renovation to mark its 15th anniversary.

The island, located near fishing and diving spots including the Great Blue Hole, introduced the renovation in November just before the 2016 holiday season.

Turneffe Island Resort’s 22 beachside guestrooms have been updated, including its presidential and honeymoon villas. All suites feature floor-to-ceiling Belizean mahogany wood interiors.

The resort was originally the first offshore fishing lodge in Belize. Relaunched in 2001 under new, private family ownership, the resort features three original buildings, an outdoor bar and pool, private villas along its white sand shoreline and a helicopter pad.
