The Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa has finished a US$21 million renovation.

The newly updated lobby uses teak, black walnut, stone, water-jet cut aluminum panels and cast glass to give guests a dramatic arrival experience. In addition to new pod-style reception and concierge desks, the lobby includes space for Hertz and Speedi-Shuttle services.

The observation deck has new stone flooring and curved glass walls, while the guestroom corridors in the Atrium tower have new wall finishes. The renovation also includes stone-clad stairways from the lobby level to the main pool deck, artwork and wood paneling in the elevator lobbies and landscaping.

Earlier renovations updated guestrooms and added the Japengo restaurant and sushi lounge.

The 40-acre (roughly 16-hectare) Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa has 806 guestrooms, including 31 suites.
