The Westin Excelsior in Florence, Italy, has reopened Sesto on Arno following a €3.3 million (US$4.1 million) restoration.
Set atop the hotel and made almost entirely of glass, Sesto on Arno overlooks the Arno River and offers views of the city and the hills of Tuscany. It offers a dedicated bar for the Italian aperitivo ritual as well as a restaurant, both surrounded by two spacious terraces. Sesto on Arno also features a design inspired by the 1960s with oversized windows, warm and colorful interiors enriched with wooden floors and ceilings, and a curved bar made of wood and alabaster, backlit with bronzed steel inserts.
Open daily for lunch and dinner, Sesto on Arno features a Mediterranean-style menu made with seasonal products and accompanied by a new wine list offering a selection of Italian and international wines. All dishes are creatively curated by Executive Chef Enziana Osmenzeza, who has worked alongside Michelin-starred chefs including Gualtiero Marchesi, Fulvio Pierangelini and Alain Ducasse.
