Virgin close to deals in San Francisco, Dallas

Virgin Hotels revealed that it is close to securing deals in San Francisco and Dallas and is also negotiating in other markets in the U.S. and Europe. Reports have a 200-room Dallas hotel expected fetch an ADR at about US$300 a night.

The news from Virgin Group’s nascent brand comes after its announcement earlier this week that it will open an hotel in New York City.

“For awhile we weren’t active in development, as we were working on product. We became more active last year and the pipeline is starting to ramp up significantly,” Raul Leal, Virgin Hotels CEO told HOTELS. “Now we’re negotiating in San Francisco and Dallas and close (to deals) in those markets. We’ve also added development people in London to find deals in London. It’s tough to find location there but with the power of the brand there we will have more than one hotel in 10 years, likely two to three.”

The first Virgin hotel in Chicago is now slated for the second quarter of next year.
