Vienna International fires Chairman Tucek

VIENNA The supervisory board of Vienna International Hotelmanagement AG has decided to part ways with Management Board Chairman Rudolf Tucek, effective immediately.

The company cites “several incidents” that led to split, without giving further details.

“After many years of fruitful collaboration in which Rudolf Tucek constantly pushed VI forward and shaped both the company and the hotel industry in Austria, there were several incidents that led the supervisory board to this step to ensure the further positive development of the company,” Vienna International says in a statement. “The supervisory board wishes to express the importance of maintaining and reestablishing an open and respectful corporate culture both internally and externally. Our company’s management must always represent a positive example, particularly as a hotel operator, whose main priority is the well-being of our guests.

Longtime Bank Austria Leasing Chairman Thomas Aistleitner will take over as Vienna International’s interim manager and chairman for the next six months, or until a permanent replacement is selected. Aistleitner will also lead the search for a permanent chairman.

Vienna International is Austria’s largest hotel management company, with 34 hotels and resorts in nine Europe countries.
