Starwood Hotels & Resorts’ Tribute Portfolio are giving Instagram users a way to directly book a stay at its two newest hotels, Le Metropolitan and Le Dokhan’s.
Instagram users who sign up with LIKEtoKNOW.it, a consumer shopping service, can double-tap photos of the Paris hotels that are tagged with @tributeportfolio, #independentmoments and a LIKEtoKNOW.it enabled link. The service then sends the user an email that allows the user to book a stay directly.
Tribute Portfolio, Starwood’s collection of independent brands, is the first hotel brand to partner with LIKEtoKNOW.it, according to Starwood. The company cited a 2014 study by Google that found that 77% of travelers use their smartphones for “travel inspiration” in spare moments. Nearly half of travelers worldwide use smartphones to plan or book their trips, said Dave Marr, global brand leader for Tribute Portfolio.
