THAME, ENGLAND Travelodge is partnering with a host of pub operators as part of a £100 million plan to add 36 properties to its budget hotel portfolio by 2015.
The scheme has the firm working with Greene King, JW Lees, Marston’s, Mitchells & Butlers and JD Wetherspoons to identify development opportunities across the United Kingdom.
“The pub companies have noticeably stepped up their development plans over recent months, and in many parts of the country, their target locations correspond with ours,” says Paul Harvey, Travelodge’s managing director for development. “A combined hotel/pub development is attractive to banks and funders, making the development process a lot quicker than it otherwise may be.”
Travelodge already co-locates with pub companies at 15 sites across the country.
