Starwood Capital considers options to sell Louvre Hotels

PARIS Starwood Capital is considering options to sell Louvre Hotels, according to a published report.

Daily newspaper Les Echos reports that the firm headed by Barry Sternlicht is considering either selling the economy hotel chain or publicly listing it.

“Starwood Capital has launched the process to be ready at end-2011 or early 2012,” Les Echos reports, citing an unidentified source. “Preparing for a possible bourse listing takes time but the decision will depend on market conditions. Starwood Capital is by nature opportunistic.”

Starwood Capital has declined to comment on the report.
