Madrid-based Room Mate Hotels’ new property in Barcelona, Spain is in the midst of its “Looking for Pau” contest, which is searching for the “face” of the new hotel.
Room Mate has made a practice of associating its properties with a person. In the contest for the Barcelona hotel’s representative, participants can visit Room Mate Hotels’ Facebook page to participate or vote for the top five finalists. These finalists will then move on to Madrid, where they will be judged in front of a panel that includes Room Mate’s President and CEO Enrique “Kike” Sarasola.
“We like to invite to public to be part of this selection as a way to forge a personal connection with our brand,” Sarasola said. “By identifying a real person as the face of Pau, we’re bringing that connection to the foreground.”
As for the “ideal” candidate for the Barcelona hotel, Sarasola commented, “We’re looking for a man who is passionate, charming, attractive and thoughtful in nature. It’s also important that he likes to travel, as part of the prize package are complimentary nights across our properties!”
The winner’s photo also will be featured on a variety of marketing materials, including the Room Mate Hotels website and Facebook pages, indefinitely.
