Rezidor to convert Cannes hotel to Radisson Blu

CANNES, FRANCE The Rezidor Hotel Group announces Radisson Blu 1835 Hotel & Thalasso, Cannes. The 134-key property, formerly known as 1835 White Palm Hotel, will be rebranded in December.

“We are delighted to open a further high-quality hotel in the South of France, which will clearly strengthen our presence along the Côte d’Azur,” says Rezidor President and CEO Kurt Ritter. Rezidor operates city hotels in Nice and Marseille, and the Cannes conversion brings its portfolio of hotels in operation and under development in France to 28 properties.

“Rezidor’s entrepreneurial spirit will add new value to the hotel and the extraordinary spa Les Thermes Marins de Cannes,” says Nathalie Esclapez, the hotel’s owner. She recently received the Médaille d’Argent du Tourisme and was named Manager de l’Année by the French group Nice-Matin.

Radisson Blu 1835 Hotel & Thalasso enjoys a prominent location on the edge of the picturesque old quarter Le Suquet, overlooking the harbor and across the street from the beach. It is within walking distance of La Croisette, Cannes’ famous main avenue renowned for its luxurious boutiques, trendy bars and restaurants, and sidewalks with sea views. The legendary Palais des Festivals et Congres is 800 m from the hotel and hosts all major events of Cannes, including the annual film festival, on 35,000 sq. m of congress space.
