Rezidor announces new-build Radisson Blu for Istanbul

ISTANBUL The Rezidor Hotel Group announces the 133-key Radisson Blu Golden Horn Hotel, Istanbul, scheduled to open in early 2013.

The hotel will be owned by Dilek Holding, which also owns Radisson Blu Sisli in Istanbul. Radisson Blu is the largest upper-upscale brand operating in Istanbul, with five properties either in operation or under development.

“Istanbul and Turkey overall are important markets for us, as they offer considerable opportunities both within the business and leisure segment,” says Rezidor President and CEO Kurt Ritter.

Radisson Blu Golden Horn Hotel will be located in the trendy and cosmopolitan Pera neighborhood and will be facing the Golden Horn—the inlet of the Bosphorus River that divides the city. Next to the property is the legendary Pera Palace Hotel, the oldest luxury hotel in Istanbul, which formerly accommodated passengers travelling on the Orient Express train.

The hotel will have an all-day dining restaurant, 800 sq. m of meeting space, and a wellness area with an indoor pool. A focal point will be the chic rooftop restaurant and bar.
