Residence Inn to open near Boston’s Fenway Park

BOSTON A Residence Inn by Marriott is being developed about two blocks from Boston’s historic Fenway Park baseball stadium.

Boylston Properties Company Inc. is developing the 175-key extended-stay hotel, which will also have 6,000 sq. ft of retail or restaurant space on the ground floor. Boylston expects to begin construction on the US$60 million project later this year, with an opening targeted for mid-2013, Boston Globe reports.

The building is designed by Group One Partners Inc. of Boston. It will feature an enclosed rooftop pool and a balcony framed by a 100-ft.-long pergola.

The hotel will be operated by the Pyramid Hotel Group under a long-term agreement.
