Renaissance Dubai reflags as Crowne Plaza under US$55m renovation

DUBAI Renaissance Dubai Hotel has relaunched as Crowne Plaza Dubai-Deira, coinciding with the commencement of a US$55 million renovation project.

IHG has taken over management of the 281-key property in Dubai’s Deira neighborhood. The hotel, owned by Mohammed & Obaid Al Mulla LLC, becomes the third Crowne Plaza in Dubai.

“The facilities and location of Crowne Plaza Dubai-Deira make it a great fit for the Crowne Plaza brand—being in the heart of Dubai, close to popular heritage sites such as the gold and spice souks, Al Bastikiya heritage village and key business districts where banking, government and ministries are located. It is also within easy reach of Dubai airport,” says John Bamsey, chief operating officer for IHG Middle East and Africa.

Crowne Plaza Dubai-Deira, features 37 suites, 41 club rooms and 203 deluxe rooms. Upon completion of the planned renovation, the hotel guestroom count will increase to 302. The hotel already has a newly renovated health club, a swimming pool, and whirlpool, sauna and massage facilities. There are also six food and beverage outlets offering a great variety of international food and entertainment.
