GUILDFORD, ENGLAND One of the UK’s largest privately owned hotel groups continues to expand as Radisson Edwardian Hotel Group announces a new-build property in the town of Guildford, slated to open in September.
The £60 million development on the site of the historic White Horse Hotel is a collaboration between Marcol, Nicolas James Group and Radisson Edwardian.
The 185-key Radisson Edwardian Guildford will feature two restaurants, a dining terrace and two bars. The hotel’s stand-alone restaurant, yet to be named, will include direct street access and will offer a pan-Asian menu. The main restaurant will highlight British cuisine with a seasonal menu sourced from local suppliers. The Terrace at the front of the hotel offers a casual al fresco experience ideal for pre- and post-event entertaining.
“There is already a high standard and choice of places to eat in Guildford, and we know that we have to offer something really outstanding to be successful in this location,” says Linda Plant, director of marketing for Radisson Edwardian. “We’ve drawn on all of our experience throughout the group to provide a wide range of different eating experiences and expect that we will not just have ‘something for every taste,’ but that we will have restaurants and bars that people will want to come to enjoy on a regular basis.”
Other hotel amenities will include a spa, a swimming pool, a gym, a sauna and a steam room. Meeting facilities will have capacity for 400 guests.
The Radisson Edwardian brand has 13 hotels, primarily in London and Manchester.
