Postcard Inn now a brand of two

Starwood Capital Group’s Postcard Inn brand now stands at two with further plans to grow after the recent rebranding of the Holiday Isle Beach Resort & Marina in Islamorada, Florida, to the Postcard Inn Beach Resort & Marina at Holiday Isle.

The original Postcard Inn in St. Pete’s Beach, Florida, and the new hotel are owned by Starwood Capital, with Hersha Hospitality Management acting as the operator of the newly renovated property in the Florida Keys.

The Postcard Inn brand is expected to grow via the acquisition of iconic properties that offer the retro, throwback feel of a nostalgic American beach vacation, combined with modern amenities, designer furnishings and a touch of whimsy. Flip flops are part of the “required” dress code, and year-round activities and events appeal to those craving an authentic, hip hangout on the beach, couples desiring an intimate escape and parents seeking a casual getaway with kids in tow.

The Islamorada hotel recently completed a US$10.6 million renovation that will include the first Shula Burger restaurant, which is scheduled to open in December. The restaurant is a fast-casual burger concept with a full liquor bar created by former Miami Dolphins Coach Don Shula.

Each of the newly renovated guestrooms showcases a waterfront style of white woods and sand-colored stripes, hand-stenciled quotes on the walls from famous ocean lovers, daybeds, large flat-screen televisions and Wi-Fi service. Additionally, 14 new Lanai Suites open up to their own spacious private sitting areas facing the beach.
