Shahab Abbas has returned to Fairmont Hotels & Resorts as director of global accounts, after a stint serving as a group sales manager for another major hotel chain. Prior to his latest role, Abbas worked as group sales manager at The Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows.
Mandarin Oriental, Washington, has appointed Anupam Banerjee as head chef. Banerjee, who will be responsible for banquets and catering, most recently was at Mandarin Oriental, Geneva, where he opened the fine-dining restaurant Rasoi.
Rancho Valencia, an Auberge Resort in Rancho Santa Fe, California, has appointed Eric N. Bauer executive chef. Bauer was formerly the executive chef at Anthology in San Diego.
Oxford Properties, Toronto, has appointed Drew Coles, vice president of hotels, in charge of Oxford’s luxury resort hotel portfolio. Coles was previously VP of development for Delta Hotels & Resorts.
The Lodge of Four Seasons in Lake Ozark, Missouri, has appointed Alan D’Zurilla as director of sales and marketing. D’Zurilla comes from Crowne Plaza Ravinia in Atlanta, where he was also director of sales and marketing.
Starwood Hotels and Resorts, Latin America Division, has named Carl Emberson general manager at The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort in Punta Mita, Mexico. Emberson most recently spent eight years at Valle de Las Leñas Resort in Mendoza, Argentina, where he served in several roles, including general manager and food and beverage director for the resort’s five hotels and 20 restaurants.
Isabel Gracia has been named director of sales and marketing at Miami Beach’s The Raleigh hotel. Prior to joining The Raleigh, Gracia served as director of sales and marketing for Gansevoort Miami Beach.
Rita Healy has been named hotel manager at The Fairmont Southampton in Bermuda. Healy was most recently hotel manager at The Fairmont Turnberry Isle.
The Fairmont Jaipur, India, set to open in 2011, has named Atul Lall general manager. He joins Fairmont from Keys Hotels.
Dan McGowan has been named general manager of The Fairmont Palliser in Calgary, Alberta. Since joining Fairmont in 1992 at The Fairmont Chateau Whistler, McGowan has held positions including conference services manager, revenue manager, director of rooms and, most recently, general manager of The Fairmont Vancouver Airport.
Omni Hotels & Resorts has named David Morgan vice president of food and beverage. Morgan most recently served as general manager of Mondrian Scottsdale.
Lane Hospitality has promoted Ginny Morrison to vice president of sales and marketing. Morrison joined Lane Hospitality in 1991 as general manager and was most recently regional director of sales and marketing.
Jerry Moynihan has been appointed director of engineering, Fairmont Scottsdale Princess. Moynihan most recently served as director of property operations, Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort.
Alexander Pichel has joined Fairmont as general manager of Fairmont Baku, Azerbaijan. Most recently Pichel was general manager and director general for a luxury hotel in Russia.
Michael Pye took on the job of general manager at The Fairmont Winnipeg, Manitoba. Most recently, Pye served as director of operations at The Fairmont Southampton in Bermuda.
Mohammed Abdulaziz Siddiqi has been named general manager of Makkah Clock Royal Tower, A Fairmont Hotel, in Saudi Arabia.
