Hotel management company Lungarno Alberghi s.r.l. has appointed Valeriano Antonioli as chief operating officer. A 27-year veteran of the hospitality industry, Antonioli has managed luxury hotels and resorts in Italy, Germany, Russia, England and the United States.

Montvale, New Jersey-based Dolce Hotels and Resorts, operator of 27 upscale hotels, resorts and conference hotels in North America and Europe, has appointed Stephen Bello corporate director of operations. Bello most recently served as general manager of Dolce’s 168-room Lakeway Resort and Spa on Lake Travis in Austin, Texas.

Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel in Los Angeles has promoted Sarah Best from director of corporate and leisure travel sales to director of sales. 

Dolce Hotels and Resorts has appointed Wayne Carney to the new position of vice president, property finance. He was most recently regional senior director of finance and accounting for The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Co. for the Southeast, Caribbean and Latin America.

Swiss-Garden International Hotels, Resorts & Inns, Kuala Lumpur, has appointed Jimmy Chow vice president of operations. Prior, he was the group GM of Nomad Sucasa in Penang.

Colman Conneely has joined Davidson Hotel Co. as general manager of the Marriott Teaneck at Glenpointe Hotel in New Jersey. Most recently, he was regional vice president, general manager, of Hilton Charlotte Center City in North Carolina.

Banyan Tree Holdings Limited, the Singapore-based manager and developer of premium resorts, hotels, spas and galleries, has appointed Luca Deplano to the position of vice president, marketing. Deplano’s most recent position was marketing director, premium cards, at American Express in Hong Kong.

Minneapolis-based Carlson has appointed Harjit (G.T.) Dhillon as vice president of global travel industry relations. Dhillon will be responsible for leading the strategy for travel intermediaries such as travel management companies, travel consortia and online travel agents. Dhillon brings more than 20 years of hospitality experience to Carlson, including 18 years with Hilton, where he was most recently managing director of travel industry relations.

Dorchester Collection’s London flagship, The Dorchester, has appointed Rachel Louis as director of sales. Louis brings 13 years of management experience to her new position, most recently as director of sales at InterContinental London Park Lane and assistant director of sales at Maybourne Hotel Group.

Deborah Lunn has been appointed general manager of the new Sanctuary Hotel in Times Square, New York, which will debut in spring 2011. (It currently operates as the Portland Square Hotel.) Formerly known among colleagues as Deborah McCluskey, Lunn previously has held the positions of general manager for Kimpton’s Ink48 Hotel and the Empire Hotel, as well as general manager and director of operations for the W New York – the Court & Tuscany.

Hotel Equities has promoted Tamara Markham to vice president. Markham joined Hotel Equities in 1998 in hotel operations before assuming broader responsibilities.

Christophe Saintagne has been appointed head chef of Alain Ducasse au Plaza Athénée in Paris, the Michelin 3-star restaurant at Hôtel Plaza Athénée. Most recently, Saintagne spent two years as chief executive of Alain Ducasse Enterprises.

Alex Siju has rejoined Starwood Hotels and Resorts in Shanghai as director of food and beverage for two of its brands.
