People on the move: Deutsche Hospitality, Sage Hospitality, Caption by Hyatt

Deutsche Hospitality, Frankfurt, has named Josef Dolp its new chief operating officer. In this role he will oversee hotel operations and customer experience across all brands and geographies.   

Austrian native Dolp brings his expertise of 20 years leading some of the largest hotels and regions for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Marriott International and Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts. He joined Shangri-La in 2018 as executive vice president, Southeast Asia and Australasia. Previously, he served as area vice president Macau, Taiwan and Southeast China for Marriott International.

The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay, California, has appointed Jason Bossenberry as director of sales and marketing. Most recently, Bossenberry was director of sales and marketing at Four Seasons Hotel Miami for nearly four years. 

Hotel Valencia Santana Row, San Jose, California, named Christine Davidson as its new director of sales and marketing. Most recently, Davidson was a regional director of sales with Hersha Hospitality, Philadelphia. 

Derek Douglass Drew has been named the area hotel manager for the soon-to-debut Caption by Hyatt Beale Street Memphis and the Hyatt Centric Beale Street Memphis (Tennessee). Previously, Drew served as manager at the Hyatt Regency Reston, Virginia, and then as assistant director of operations.  

LUMA Hotel San Francisco has chosen Brian Fenwick as general manager and Abel Barrera as director of sales and marketing. Fenwick joins LUMA after his experiences as senior director at Kimpton Hotel & Restaurants, and vice president at Commune Hotels & Resorts, both in San Francisco. Barrera’s prior position was that of pre-opening director of sales and marketing at Hilton. 

AvantStay, Los Angeles, California, has appointed David Katcher as chief operating officer. Katcher comes to AvantStay after nearly a seven-year tenure with Lyft. 

Sage Studio, Denver, Colorado, the in-house branding and creative company within Sage Hospitality Group, has selected Ryan Kibler as creative director. Most recently, Kibler served as creative director at Eaton Workshop in Washington DC. 

Magnuson Hotels, Spokane Valley, Washington, has promoted Adnan Malik to director of revenue and distribution. Malik joined the group four years ago as portfolio revenue manager. 

Windsor Court Hotel, New Orleans, chose Isabella Marciante as marketing and communications manager. Previously, Marciante served as communications manager at the Business Council of New Orleans. 

The Westin Resort & Spa Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, welcomed Hector Martinez as its new executive chef. During his 30-year tenure, he has held positions at and supported global Marriott properties including: Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino, Curaçao Marriott Beach Resort, Marriott Panama, W Punta de Mita, Courtyard Aeropuerto CDMX, Sheraton Monterrey and Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa. 

Sonesta International Hotels Corp., Newton, Massachusetts, has announced two additions to its leadership team: Jeanne Montgomery Smith was hired as vice president of revenue management and Kaaren Hamilton has been promoted to vice president of global sales. Most recently, Smith served as the vice president of revenue for Peachtree Hospitality Management, Atlanta, Georgia, while Hamilton served as vice president of global sales, franchise and development at RLH Corp., Denver, Colorado, which was acquired by Sonesta.

Concord Hospitality has promoted Helene Okabe to vice president of feasibility. Okabe joined the Concord team in 2008, holding various executive positions within the company, including regional vice president of sales and marketing, corporate director of sales and area director of sales. 

Peachtree Hospitality Management, Atlanta, Georgia, has announced that the director of people and culture, Joe Palmer, has been promoted to vice president, risk management. 

Executive Chef Craig Riker has been appointed to the helm of Finch & Fork, located within the Kimpton Canary Hotel in Santa Barbara, California. Most recently, he served as executive chef in Oliver’s in Montecito, also in California. 

Collective Retreats has appointed Jesse Rodriguez as head sommelier and beverage alchemist. Rodriguez has managed luxury resort and fine dining restaurant beverage programs across California. 

Six Peaks Grille, the signature restaurant at Resort at Squaw Creek in Olympic Valley, California, announced Michelle Stolba as restaurant manager. Stolba joins the resort from Travel Traders, Miami, Florida, where she served as area manager. 

Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North, Arizona, appointed 14-year Four Seasons veteran Rita Vale as the new director of food and beverage. Rita joins the property from Four Seasons Hotel Macao, Brazil, where she most recently served as assistant director of food and beverage.
