Meliá Hotels International brand Paradisus Resorts has announced a brand-wide partnership with Martin Berasategui, whose eponymous restaurant in Lasarte-Oria, Spain, is the recipient of three Michelin stars.
The alliance will introduce a unique concept by Berasategui to every Paradisus property starting with Passion by Martin Berasategui at Paradisus Playa del Carmen La Perla in Mexico. Local seafood will play a starring role at Passion, where guests also will be able to choose wine pairings from three separate lists created exclusively for the restaurant.
The agreement also allows Paradisus to train and develop kitchen and service staff at Berasategui’s Lasarte restaurant under his direct supervision.
An innovator of Basque cuisine, Berasategui started cooking in his teens at his family’s eatery in San Sebastian, Spain, and is known for utilizing fresh seafood in his cuisine.
