Pacifica de-flags two Best Western Plus properties

Pacifica Hotel Co., which owns and manages 26 hotels in coastal locations — primarily in California — has announced the de-flagging of two of its Best Western Plus properties: Inn at Marina del Rey and Half Moon Bay Lodge, both in California.

The Santa Barbara, California-based company plans to transition the properties to independent Pacifica hotel identities to augment the company’s strategic branding initiatives. Inn at Marina del Rey is located near both Marina del Rey and the Venice Beach neighborhood; Half Moon Bay Lodge is a hacienda-style hotel adjacent to Half Moon Bay Golf Links.

“This shift underscores Pacifica’s corporate initiative to enhance and unify the overall brand, and provide guests with a more customized and consistent experience,” said Pacifica’s President Matt Marquis. “We want each property to feel uniquely individual while still upholding the expectations and values that our guests expect from any Pacifica hotel. De-flagging two of our Best Western properties is a strategic decision to continue our focus on upscale, independent properties in prime locations while expanding recognition for the Pacifica brand.”
