Oman market forecast to continue growing:  A report released Wednesday by the Oman office of U.K. real estate company Cluttons forecasts that the number of hotel rooms in the country’s capital city of Muscat will increase by up to 21% each year for the next five years.

McCormick Place development moves ahead:  Chicago’s massive convention center McCormick Place revealed on Wednesday that it is pressing ahead with a 461-room expansion of the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place hotel. CBG Hotel Design-Builders won the US$87 million contract for the addition.

Canadian Niagara Hotels buys The Rosseau:  The Rosseau resort, located on Lake Rosseau in the Canadian province of Ontario was bought out of receivership on Wednesday by Canadian Niagara Hotels, a hotel operator company.

$100 million hotel development in Tasmania:  Australian department store chain Myer announced on Wednesday that it plans on building a AU$100 million (US$107 million) hotel, retail and restaurant facility in Hobart.
