Meliá to expand in Morocco:  Meliá Hotels International announced that it signed a deal with SDS, a partnership between the major Moroccan group CDG and the Moroccan Tourism Development Fund, to open three hotels in Saidia Med.

 


Falor sentenced to 6 years:  Robert Falor, a Chicago-based former condominium hotel promoter, was sentenced to six years imprisonment on federal tax evasion charges.

Hyatt to expand in England:  An affiliate of Hyatt Hotels Corp. entered into an agreement with Magill Investments Limited to open the 170-room Hyatt Place London Heathrow/Hayes in the spring of 2015.

Paramount signs agreement to develop in Italy:  Paramount Hotels signed a deal with Alpha Tours and Grand Hotel Via Vento to develop hotels and theme parks in Italy.

Nobu confirms Eden Roc deal:  Nobu Hospitality confirmed that it signed a management deal with Eden Roc LLLP to take over management of the Eden Roc Miami Beach.

 


Judge halts Harmon demolition:  A judge issued an order requiring the postponing of the demolition of Las Vegas’ troubled Harmon Tower until more tests can be done.

 


Boulud opening bistro at Boston hotel:  Chef Daniel Boulud will open a French-inspired bistro and wine bar at the Mandarin Oriental, Boston in August.
