Minor expands in Bali: Minor Hotel Group is developing Anantara Ubud Bali Resort in a joint venture with Indonesia-based PT Wijaya Karya Realty. The 70-room resort is expected to cost US$41.4 million and open in 2019.

Grupo Hotusa adds two: Spain’s Grupo Hotusa added two locations to its exe Hotels chain with the purchase of the 51-room NY.T Roma hotel in Mexico City, which will be renamed exe Cities Reforma 4*, its lease of the exe Santafé Boutique Hotel 5* in Bogota. Also in Bogota, it plans to open a Eurostars Bacatá 5* in mid-2016.

Go-ahead for Stanly Ranch: Work on a 150-room hotel in the rural Stanly Ranch area of Napa, California, was cleared to begin six years after the resort and housing development was approved. Auberge Resorts floated the plan for the VieVage hotel, which is scheduled to open in 2017.

Historic hotel purchased: The historic Edgewater hotel in Miami’s South Beach neighborhood was purchased by Marriott Vacation Club for US$23.5 million. The 49-room hotel was built in 1936.

US$60 million renovation: Delray Beach, Florida-based Hudson Holdings got city approval for a US$60 million renovation of the Gulfstream Hotel in Lake Worth, Florida, into an 87-room hotel. The developer also wants to demolish two nearby structures and replace them with a five-story, 87-room hotel that would be branded by Hilton’s The Curio Collection.

Carey Watermark buys Equinox: Carey Watermark Investors Inc. acquired The Equinox Golf Resort & Spa, a Starwood brand in The Luxury Collection in Manchester, Vermont, that includes an 18-hole championship golf course.

Waramaug acquires Chicago-area Marriott: Waramaug Hospitality III LLC of Florida and Sidra Real Estate Inc. acquired the Chicago Marriott Southwest at Burr Ridge in the Chicago suburb. The purchase price for the 184-room hotel was not disclosed.

 


Management of DoubleTree: Greenbelt, Maryland-based Chesapeake Hospitality assumed management of the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Syracuse, New York. The 250-room hotel will undergo a $5.6 million renovation.
