Laurus buys Chicago hotel:  Laurus Corp. announced that it bought the 362-room Renaissance O’Hare Hotel for an undisclosed sum and will invest US$6.5 million on renovations. Concord Hospitality Enterprises will manage the hotel.

Four Seasons to enter South Africa:  Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts signing a long-term management agreement with the owners of The Westcliff, located in Johannesburg. After renovations the hotel will reopen as the Four Seasons Hotel Westcliff Johannesburg in the second quarter of 2014.

Choice’s profit down in Q2:  Choice Hotels International posted second quarter net income of US$28.2 million, down from US$31.8 million during the same period last year.
