Four Points to expand in Australia:  Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide signed an agreement with a trustee of Meteorite Land (Pearl River) Unit Trust to open the 269-room Four Points by Sheraton Melbourne Docklands in January 2017. Hiap Hoe will operate the hotel.

Holiday Inn to enter Belarus:  IHG signed a franchise agreement with Hospitality Group to open the 205-room Holiday Inn Minsk, the brand’s first hotel in Belarus.

FelCor sells 2 US hotels:  FelCor Lodging Trust sold the 196-room DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Hotel Doheny Beach – Dana Point, located in Dana Point, California, and 251-room Embassy Suites Baltimore – at BWI Airport, located in Linthicum, Maryland, for a total of US$54.1 million. The buyer or buyers were not disclosed.

Pinnacle to develop New Jersey hotel:  Pinnacle Cos. will develop a US$35 million, 148-room The MC, a lifestyle hotel in Montclair that will join Marriott International’s Autograph Collection.

Hyatt may sell Toronto hotel:  Hyatt Hotels Corp. is in talks to sell the 336-room Park Hyatt Toronto for more than C$100 million (US$92 million), according to a person familiar with the matter.

Bain Capital affiliate may buy UK golf resorts:  The Times reported that Sankaty Advisers, part of Bain Capital, has beaten rivals in bidding for six De Vere golf resorts, all located in the U.K.

Chatham closes Innkeepers purchase:  A Chatham Lodging Trust and NorthStar Realty Finance Corp. JV closed its US$1.3 billion purchase of 47 hotels, and Chatham closed its purchase of four hotels from Cerberus Capital Management and Chatham Lodging Trust.

 


Crowne Plaza to expand in Georgia:  IHG signed a deal with Park Hotel to open the 84-room Crowne Plaza Borjomi, which will be operated by T&T Consulting, the first internationally-branded property in the city.
