New Hyatt for Charlotte:  Developers in Charlotte, North Carolina announced on Tuesday that they signed a franchise agreement to open a Hyatt Place in the city’s downtown.

Jeddah tops Middle East:  A study by Credit Libanais comparing 5-star hotel markets in the Middle East region showed that Jeddah, Saudi Arabia had the highest occupancy rate for June at an average of 78%.

Indian resort sells for over $100 million:  The Leela Kovalam Beach in Kovalam, India was sold by its parent company The Leela Palaces, Hotels & Resorts to Ravi Pillai for US$109 million last week. Leela will continue to manage the property.
