Mövenpick aims to make kids’ food fun

Zurich-based Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts has debuted the “Power Bites” menu for kids at selected restaurants at properties in the Middle East and Asia.

Power Bites emphasizes nutrition — utilizing lean meat, lots of fruits and vegetables as well as ingredients low in fat and sodium and free of saturated fats. Perhaps most important, however, the menu focuses on fun, with a mini hard-hat workman installing tomato on a burger, scuba toys preparing to dive into a bowl of mixed fruit and a tomato-headed millipede crawling across a plate on cucumber feet.

“These days children have constant entertainment in the form of iPads, phones and games,” said Peter Drescher, vice president of food and beverage, Middle East and Asia. “So, we have to be equally entertaining with our food.”
