MGM Resorts to debut in India in 2014

NEW DELHI MGM Resorts International will debut in India with a 480-key hotel in New Delhi, set to open in early 2014. The property will be managed by the company’s nongaming MGM Hospitality division.

The MGM Grand and Skylofts New Dehli will be part of a multi-hotel development. The hotel will be owned by Silver Resort Hotel India Private Ltd., a subsidiary of Blue Coast Hotels, which operates the 251-key Park Hyatt Goa Resort and Spa.

“This announcement is of particular significance as it marks our company’s entry into the burgeoning India marketplace,” says Gamal Aziz, president and CEO of MGM Hospitality. “Our brands are known the world over, but being welcomed into a new nation is always exciting, especially one with a hospitality market as dynamic as India’s.”

Groundbreaking is scheduled for March.
