Man arrested after attempted bombing at Copenhagen hotel

COPENHAGEN Police are detaining a man who reportedly tried to blow himself up in a hotel lavatory in central Copenhagen.

Police have confirmed that there was a small explosion at the 33-key Hotel Jørgensen, the Danish-language newspaper Politiken reports. Police apprehended the man in a nearby park, where he apparently fled after the bomb failed. Further details, including a motive or the man’s identity, have not been made public.

The area around the hotel and park have been sealed off while the investigation continues. No injuries have been reported.
