Qualia Development, a subsidiary of Poland’s largest bank PKO Bank Polski, and Louvre Hotels Group, Paris, on Wednesday announced a strategic franchise partnership to develop mid- and upscale hotels and serviced residences across Poland.
Qualia Development will develop seven projects between 2012 and 2016, representing about 1,000 rooms under Louvre’s Golden Tulip and Royal Tulip brands. One hotel will be located in Warsaw next to the airport, while the others will be condo-hotel projects located in popular Polish tourist destinations.
This move gives Louvre a leg up on its plan for Eastern Europe, which includes having a portfolio of 40 hotels by 2015.
Four projects will be located on the Baltic coast and another in Zakopane in the Tatras mountain region. Yet another condo-hotel is planned for the spa town of Duszniki-Zdroj.
The first project set to open in June of this year will be located in the city of Miedzyzdroje, a major seaside tourist destination in Poland located only 20 kilometers from Germany. The Golden Tulip Miedzyzdroje Residence will be located about 100 meters from the beach and close to the folkloric city center and its famous 395-meter pier. The project in Miedzyzdroje will be financed by PKO Bank Polski, and the hotel will be managed by Qualia’s management company.
