Leela Hotels taps Elysian COO as new operations VP

MUMBAI The Leela Palaces, Hotels & Resorts has named Thomas Lind as its new vice president of operations.

With more than 25 years of international hotel experience, Lind has held senior executive positions with some of the world’s leading luxury hotel brands, including Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, The Ritz Carlton Hotel Co., Hyatt Hotels Corp. and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. Prior to joining Leela, he was chief operating officer and partner of Elysian Hotels & Resorts.

Lind spent seven years with Four Seasons, serving as regional vice president and general manager of Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh. At Ritz-Carlton, he had stints as GM in Mexico City and Caracas.

“Thomas is a consummate hotelier and brings to The Leela over two decades of high-end luxury experience, which shall help us to further enhance the inimitable Leela guest experience,” says Leela President Rajiv Kaul. “We welcome him to our team, and I am certain that he shall contribute significantly to our group’s standing as a market leader.”

Leela is continuing with its ambitious expansion plans. This fall, a new 5-star hotel will open in the diplomatic enclave of New Delhi. Last year, Leela opened two new properties: The Leela Kempinski in Gurgaon and The Leela Palace Kempinski Udaipur. Leela has luxury hotels and resorts in Bangalore, Goa, Kerala and Mumbai, and additional properties are planned in Agra, Hyderabad and Kerala.
