Langham aims for 6 India hotel openings by 2017

INDIA Langham Hotels International has four properties in the pipeline in India, comprising more than 650 guestrooms, with the goal of adding at least two more in the near term.

Hong Kong-based Langham’s debut in India, a 97-key Eaton Smart hotel at Delhi International Airport, is set to open next month. A 130-key Langham Place hotel is also under development in Pune. Both projects are being developed by Wadhwa Developers and will be managed by Langham.

Langham will also manage a pair of properties under development by Hindustan Construction Co. at Lavasa, a lake resort near Pune.

“We may have six properties in India within the next five years,” Langham CEO Brett Butcher tells Times of India. “We are actively talking to developers in [the National Capital Region] and north Mumbai for opportunities.”
