Jonathan Nehmer + Associates (JN+A) and HVS Design recently released the 2014 Hotel Cost Estimating Guide, a listing of capital expenditure construction and FF&E costs for hotel renovations.
Now in its sixth year of existence, the 2014 Hotel Cost Estimating Guide evaluates costs in a variety of hotel tiers including economy, extended stay, midscale, upscale, upper upscale, and luxury. Within each tier, costs are separated into the categories of guestrooms; guest bathrooms; guestroom corridors; public areas; F&B outlets; function space; recreational facilities; and infrastructure.
The 2014 Hotel Cost Estimating Guide features estimated percentages for freight and warehousing for each tier, which is a first for the guide. In compiling this year’s data, JN+A noted the following trends:
- RFID locks are becoming industry standard.
- Higher percentage of full renovations of public spaces due to changing brand initiatives.
