SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA, SPAIN The opening of the 132-key Eurostars San Lázaro in Santiago de Compostela marks two important milestones for Grupo Hotusa—the 100th managed hotel and 10,000 guestrooms.
Barcelona-based Hotusa’s hotel division now manages a total of 10,045 guestrooms at 100 hotels in 14 countries, including Spain, Italy, Germany, Portugal, Belgium, France, the Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, the United States, Mexico, Argentina, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, primarily under its 4-star Eurostars brand. At the start of 2010, Hotusa directly managed 91 hotels.
Hotusa ranks 123rd on the 2010 edition of HOTELS’ 325, the annual listing of the world’s largest hotel companies.
Eurostars San Lázaro is a six-year-old conversion property located in one of the quietest parts of Santiago, near Área Central and Carlomagno Park. The hotel has a restaurant, café and meeting rooms.
“Santiago is a prime tourist destination, and a prime location for our company, too,” says Hotusa Chairman Amancio López.
