Hot Openings: Istanbul landmark offers modern take on Turkish culture

The 20-year-old Marmara Taksim, which features 376 rooms and suites in the heart of Istanbul, has completed the first phase of a renovation project that aims to highlight Turkish culture and art with a modern look and feel.

Dallas-based Wilson Associates is leading the project, the first phase of which includes the refurbishment of the lobby entrance and reception, lobby lounge, Tuti Restaurant, business center and lounge, and pre-function and meeting space. Ongoing construction, scheduled to be complete by the end of the year, involves the Chocolate Shop, Panorama Restaurant, additional ballroom and conference space, spa, pool and gym.
