HNA International Hotels & Resorts Management Co. stated Friday that reports claiming that it was joining forces with AccorHotels to counter Jin Jiang Hotels efforts are groundless. Jin Jiang is Accor’s biggest shareholder and reportedly has been interested in gaining more influence over Accor’s management.
The statement said, as of now, HNA Hospitality Group neither has discussed with Accor on the equity acquisition, nor plans to have such discussion.
It further stated HNA has always been cautious with investments, following industry standard business codes and company work rules strictly, and will not participate in hostile bidding with any projects.
HNA recently has made a successful bid to acquire Carlson Hospitality Group and already has a significant stakes in Spain’s NH Hoteles and Red Lion Hotels Corp.
