Historic Cambodian hotels to sport refreshed look

Raffles Hotel Le Royal, Phnom Penh and Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor in Siem Reap, opened in 1929 and 1932, respectively, and the only luxury hotels in Cambodia that pre-date the civil war and the Khmer Rouge era, are undergoing refurbishments that aim to subtly update their French Colonial, Art Deco and Khmer style and ambiance.

Design company Noor led the project, which includes updated double rooms at both hotels, two new balcony suites in Phnom Penh, refurbished meeting and ballroom space in Phnom Penh and an upgrade of the two private villas in the tropical gardens in Siem Reap.

The work is expected to be complete by November.
