CHINA Hilton Worldwide has signed two China management agreements with Zhejiang Jiacheng Holding Group, including for the first Hilton Garden Inn in the country.
Hilton Garden Inn Shaoxing, located in northeastern Zhejiang Province, is expected to open later this year. The agreement also calls for the launch of DoubleTree by Hilton, Shaoxing County, scheduled to open by the end of 2013.
“The addition of Doubletree by Hilton, Shaoxing County, attests to the growing popularity of the brand in China,” says Martin Rinck, Hilton Worldwide’s Asia Pacific president. “With Hilton Garden Inn added to our current trading portfolio of four award-winning brands, we will be able to further broaden our customer base across China.”
The debut of the Garden Inn brand in China is significant for Hilton, which views China’s midscale hotel market as a key source of international growth in the coming years. The conversion project of an existing four-story building will offer 137 guestrooms, an all-day dining restaurant, an outdoor swimming pool and a health club.
The DoubleTree will be part of a mixed-used development that includes high-end residences and a shopping mall. Currently under construction, the seven-story property will have 296 guestrooms, three restaurants, a business center, a ballroom, seven function rooms, a spa and an indoor pool.
Hilton Worldwide has more than 60 properties under various stages of development across its portfolio of brands in China.
