Hilton, National Geographic team up for promo

The Hilton HHonors loyalty program and National Geographic Traveler magazine are teaming up to offer a unique promotion for travel photographers to get a chance to win prizes including a free trip to Galapagos Islands.

Photos will be accepted in five different categories, including occasions you celebrate; people you meet; the adventures you seek; the culture you learn and the spaces you discover.

One lucky grand prize winner will receive a National Geographic Expeditions trip for two to the Galapagos Islands that includes a 10-day, nine-night adventure, round-trip airfare to Ecuador and hotel accommodations, along with 1 million Hilton HHonors bonus points and US$10,000 in spending money (approximate retail value US$22,000). Five first place prize winners will also be awarded 250,000 Hilton HHonors bonus points, a Nikon Coolpix P500 camera and a copy of “National Geographic: The Ultimate Field Guide to Photography” (for a combined total retail value of US$750).

“Located in some of the world’s most spectacular settings, our hotels and resorts have, for decades, allowed guests to create and capture unforgettable memories,” said Jeff Diskin, senior vice president, global customer marketing, Hilton Worldwide.

Aspiring photographers can submit their photos at www.HHonors.com/PhotoStories. The photo contest will be judged by Dan Westergren, senior photo editor for National Geographic Traveler. Ten finalists, the top two from each of the five categories, will be selected by Westergren by the end of November. Once selected, the finalist images will be posted on the HHonors website for public voting to determine the five first prize winners, one from each of the categories. The grand prize winner will be selected by Westergren from the 10 original finalists.
