Hilton, DoubleTree hotels to open in Bangkok in 2012

BANGKOK Hilton Worldwide has signed management agreements with TCC Hotel Group for a new-build Hilton Hotels & Resorts property and a conversion project to be rebranded as the first DoubleTree by Hilton in Thailand.

Both properties are due for completion in 2012. The two hotels will be located in Sukhumvit area, Bangkok’s main lifestyle, entertainment and residential district.

Construction is already under way on the 24-story, 287-key Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok. The hotel will feature an all-day dining restaurant, bar, lobby lounge, outdoor swimming pool, health club and luxury health spa. Meeting facilities will include a 465-sq.-m conference room and meeting rooms totaling 697 sq. m.

The 182-key DoubleTree by Hilton, Sukhumvit Bangkok will debut in 2012. The 24-story conversion property will include an all-day dining restaurant and a lounge, an outdoor swimming pool, fitness center and a main conference room of 512 sq. m.

Hilton Worldwide currently operates five hotels in Thailand: Hilton Pattaya, Millennium Hilton Bangkok, Hilton Hua Hin Resort & Spa, Hilton Phuket Arcadia Resort & Spa and Conrad Bangkok. Conrad Koh Samui is scheduled to open in June, while Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok and DoubleTree by Hilton, Sukhumvit Bangkok, are due for completion in 2012.
